Dealing with Residents’ Concerns – January Update

We’re only a few days into January, and I’m already getting stuck into casework from residents! Some of the issues raised include:

• E-scooters speeding along the promenade

• Cannabis smoking

Motor vehicles causing a nuisance and being antisocial

These incidents are all taking place along West Parade on the promenade, and I want to assure you that these concerns are being taken seriously.

Let’s be clear:

• E-scooters are illegal to use on public highways unless part of a government-approved trial.

• Cannabis is a Class B substance and is illegal to possess or use.

• Antisocial use of motor vehicles can result in a Section 59 notice being issued by the police, which could lead to vehicles being seized.

I’m working to ensure these issues are addressed so we can keep our community safe and enjoyable for everyone. If you have similar concerns or want to report any incidents, please get in touch. Let’s tackle these problems together!
